Surinam chose ArgoNet

Surinam has chosen CLS (Collecte Localisation Satellite), worldwide leader in satellite-based data collection and location services, to provide a turnkey Vessel Monitoring System (VMS), operational on the 1st of April 2007.

For more than 2 years, CLS accompanied the Surinam Ministry of Agriculture, Farming and Fisheries and helped it to define a VMS system. CLS has given its support at each step of the project: from the definition of a legal chart, the operational concept to the installation of a fishing monitoring center in Paramaribo.

Nowadays, more than 80 vessels are equipped with a MARGE-V2 transmitter. These vessels regularly transmit their location for a sustainable management of marine resources.
